RadialZ is a floating radial menu for ZBrush. Press a hotkey and your brushes, alphas, textures and materials appear right at your cursor. Click, hover or flick to pick, and get back to sculpting. No more digging through palettes or scrolling lists to find what you need.

I built RadialZ for my own ZBrush workflow. It started as something I just needed to exist, and after a long time using it and refining it, I'm finally making it available. If you take your ZBrush workflow seriously, I think you're going to love it.

What's new in 1.6

  • Alphas, textures and materials. RadialZ now handles all four asset types, not just brushes. Put any of them in your radial menus and find them in the library.
  • Click, hover or flick. Three ways to pick from the menu: click a slot, hover it, or flick in its direction and release. Use whichever suits your hand.
  • Colour-coded tags.  Tag anything you like, and see the colours on the library and on the radial menu itself. Select any number of items and tag them in one click.
  • Rebuilt library. Search across brushes, alphas, textures and materials from one popup window, pin it open while you work, and right-click any item to open its folder.
  • New appearance controls. Ring, glow and tint settings, plus ring radius and icon size, with the menu redrawing as you adjust.
  • Already own RadialZ? Open the app and click Update when the update bar appears. Your menus, hotkeys and library all carry over untouched.

What RadialZ does:

  • Radial brush menus triggered by a hotkey, right where your cursor is
  • Unlimited custom menus → build one per workflow, one per project stage, however you think
  • Child slots → nest up to 3 brushes inside a single slot
  • Mix brushes and shortcuts → put ZBrush shortcuts and brushes in the same menu
  • Every asset type → brushes, alphas, textures and materials in one library
  • Popup library → search as you type, filter, tag, and pin it open while you test items directly in ZBrush
  • Auto-scanning library → RadialZ scans your full brush collection including custom, VDM and IMM brushes, on any drive, and you can point it at any custom brush folder. Install new brushes and a quick re-sync picks them up
  • Fully customisable → slot count, icon size, custom icons, text-only mode, circular or rectangular layouts
  • Simple installer → wires RadialZ to ZBrush automatically, no scripting required
  • Auto-updates → new versions delivered automatically

What you get:

  • RadialZ application (Windows)
  • ZBrush Bridge plugin, covers ZBrush 2022 to 2026, comes in the app and installs automatically
  • Written install and setup guide (PDF)
  • Short reference video for installation
  • All v1.x updates included

IMPORTANT:

After checkout, you'll receive an email containing your activation key. Paste it into the first window that appears when you finish installing RadialZ (activation window). Make sure you check your spam folder in case it lands there.

RadialZ works with ZBrush 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 on Windows. Whichever version you use, RadialZ connects to it with a one-click setup from inside the app.

RadialZ is Windows only. There is no Mac version at this time, so please check this before you buy.

Time saver

Very good puts all the brushes where you need them. But be sure to follow the tutorial as it can be tricky to start.

Improvement

Hi Pablo! One improvement I’d suggest for the tool is making the menu interaction more similar to Maya’s marking menu. Ideally, you could press a key or click to bring up the pop-up menu, then drag to the tool you want to use, and simply release to activate it.

With Radial Z, you have to press a key to open the menu, select the tool, and then click again to close it. It doesn’t feel quite as fluid.

Other than that, everything is excellent. Thanks for this incredible tool!
